Mid Exam (Winter Semester)

ANAT – 101    General and Systemic Anatomy

DVM 1st Semester

Mid Rotation: 20 marks

Bones: 10 marks

Muscles:  10 marks

Directions: (This is new pattern of examination for you. In this method you would be provided 1 minute for completing task at one station/points)

Twenty (20) different points would be there and when bell ring then you write and when bell ring again after 1minute you have to change your position and go to other point and so on after each minute. Each point consist of 2 question i.e.,

1: identify the marked area (in case of bones)

2: Tell the surface (mean side) of bone (right or left) or write the muscle which attach to this point (this is described in anatomy manual in tabulated form)

·        In case of muscles

1: Identify the pinned muscle.

2: Write its origion,insertion,action,(either of these should asked in the exam.

Bones Rotation: :   (referance from a previous paper)

1.     humurus (deltoid tuberosity) was asked and its side.

2.     Scapula (serrated areas) was asked and which muscle attach to this.

3.     Radius ulna (radial tuberosity) was asked and its side.

4.     Femur (fovea capitus)was asked and which muscle attach to this.

5.     Skull foramen was asked.

6.     Sacrum was asked.

7.     Cervicle vertebrae asked.

8.     Short bones like carpel and tarsus asked often.

Muscles Rotation:  (referance from a previous paper)

1.     Teres major was asked and its origion.

2.     Bicep brachi was asked and its action.

3.     Croco brachilis was askes and its attachment.

4.     Rectus femorus was aked and its action.

5.     Soles was askes and its action.

6.     Messetor muscle was asked with its origion.

7.     Buccinator was asked with its action.

8.     Levator libi maxilaris was asked with action.

Mid Theory : 6 marks

  • This is given from contents. 60 points paper usually. In first question usually fill in the blanks are asked.

For example:  (reference from a previous paper)                 

1.     Zygomatic arch is formed of _________, ________and __________.

2.     Scapula have __________ surfaces and ________ borders.

3.     __________ are immoveable joints.

  • In second question you would be asked the features of different bones

For example:     Humurus, scapula, radius ulna, and femur.

  • In next question you would be asked

Write the muscle of thigh or forearm etc.

  • In next question may be

Draw the diagram of mandible, comapact bone and labeled it.

  • Some definition might be asked

Extrinsic muscle, intrinsic muscle, fovea, fossa, trochanter, tubercle, tuberosity

Final Rotation: Points 40 (but may be changed and become 35 marks)

In final rotation usually organ are given and same question like:

  • Identify the pinned point

  • Write its ligaments or impressions name (either of such question).

For example: (Ref. from a previous paper)     

1. Heart (moderate band) was asked and tell about side of heart (right or left).

2. Centripetal coil of colon was asked and tell the name fat on it(it was named as meso-colon).

3. Female reproductive (fornix) system was asked and tell about clitoris.

4. Liver (aortic impression) was asked and tell which side have accessory lobe.

5. Arteries (subclavin) or fore limb or hind limb asked.

6. Male reproductive (body of penis) system was asked and tell the s shape flexture.

Note: Besides these bones and muscle are also asked (round about 8 marks).

7. Muscle of face (levator libi superiorus).     

8. Muscle of fore limb and hind limb.

9. Bones (usually which are not asked in mid )are also asked like

10. Short bones, femur etc.

Final Theory (12marks)
